MOGUL HiSpeed Series – Equipment for High Velocity Oxygen Fuel Spraying (HVOF)

Due to higher gas pressure and gas quantity very high particle speeds are reached when spraying HVOF. This leads to very dense and fine coatings. As sprayed roughness values below RA 7 µm are reached (grinded with diamond wheels below 0,1 RA).

Depending on the used consumable and equipment a deposition rate of 2-10 kg/hour can be achieved.

Used consumables are Tungsten Carbide (WC-CO, WC-Ni, WC-Co-Cr), Chromium Carbide, Nickel-base-alloys, Iron-base-alloys and molybdenum (only as wire).

Compared to other HVOF systems no hydrogen oxygen flame is needed for ignition.

For HVOF spraying MOGUL offers the following equipment:

MOGUL HISpeed II-A

A well designed, easy to use and maintenance friendly device (powder). MOGUL HiSpeed II-A is cooled by compressed air (as an option a longer expansion nozzle water cooled is available = MOGUL Water Cooling Nozzle WMH).

As fuel-gas propane, propylene or ethylene is used.

MOGUL HISpeed III

A well designed, easy to use and maintenance friendly device. MOGUL HiSpeed III sprays wires (an exchange set from powder to wire is available for MOGUL HiSpeed II-A to MOGUL HiSpeed III).

As fuel-gas propane, propylene or ethylene is used.

MOGUL HISpeed II-W

A well designed, maintenance friendly device which reaches higher particle speed than HiSpeed II-A (powder).

MOGUL HiSpeed II-W is water cooled.

As fuel-gas propane, propylene or ethylene is used.

MOGUL HISpeed II-K

A well designed, very powerful device which reaches the highest particle speeds (powder).

MOGUL HiSpeed II-K is water cooled.

MOGUL HiSpeed-K uses kerosine.

To operate the equipment following devices are needed:

  • a gun from the HiSpeed series

  • set of tubes and hoses (Tubes for oxygen, fuel-gas, powder and compressed air) and for HiSpeed III a wire feeding device.

  • a powder feeder (not when using HiSpeed III)

  • a gas control unit (MOGUL MRC HVOF for manual applications or MOGUL MFCU II – HVOF for automated applications) see peripheral devices

  • Gas supply

  • a cooling device (when using water cooled systems)
